Interest: Clean Water

Purpose: Promote

Under 5 mins.

Our future depends on them. Wetlands are ecosystems, in which water is the primary factor controlling the environment and the associated plant and animal life.  Although they cover only around 6% of the Earth’s land surface, 40% of all plant and animal species live or breed in wetlands. Wetland biodiversity matters for our health and our food & water supply.

👉 February 2, 2025 is World Wetlands Day. The theme for this year's day is "Protecting wetlands for our common future". Over the last 300 years, the world has lost almost 90% of wetland habitat as a result of human activity.  This is a moment to take a step to protect clean water as the precious resource that it is! Here are a few easy ways to make an impact:

- Join Charity Miles and have your next walk/run count for free-to-you donations to an impactful organization, charity: water. Download their app at: http://www.charitymiles.com

- Help support your local water supplies simply by adjusting your lifestyle! No more throwing garbage down your toilets. Trash goes in receptacles. Let's keep our streets and sidewalks (and ultimately our waterways) clean!
