This holiday, I experienced an impact to my personal water supply while staying in New Jersey. đź’§ A tap water alert was issued about a week before Christmas when smelly, oddly tasting water was coming from our tap. Sadly, the water company issued statements that everything was fine....yet they were still working to solve the issue.
In May of 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court significantly weakened the reach of the Clean Water Act, our nation’s 51-year-old water pollution control law. Under this decision, most wetlands and numerous streams are again vulnerable to pollution and destruction. Thankfully, the Clean Water Act of 2023, introduced on October 18, 2023, would undo much of the damage caused by the Court.
