After receiving 135,000 public comments in opposition to the Ambler Road in the southern Brooks Range of Alaska, a stop has been issued to the mining road that would threaten clean air and water, subsistence resources, and the cultural heritage of Alaska Native communities.

BUT, a senator is attempting to reverse that decision by inserting an amendment into the National Defense Authorization Act, forcing the approval of the Ambler Road Access Project.
